Who writes them

Editions are attributed to the The Golden Meridian Editorial Desk. Researched and drafted with AI assistance from our destination database, then screened by our editorial quality gates.

Where a named person has read and checked a piece, their name and the date appear in the byline. Where no name appears, no human has signed it off, and we say so rather than inventing a reviewer. That distinction is recorded in the database, not in the layout, so it cannot drift.

What we will not print

• No invented figures. No price, rate, percentage or statistic appears in an edition unless it is a verified value we hold for that destination. Where we have no figure, cost is discussed qualitatively — what drives it up, what brings it down — rather than guessed at.
• No named hotels, restaurants or operators in the prose. We describe the type of stay. Where we recommend a specific property, it is labelled, and any commercial relationship is disclosed on the link itself.
• No fabricated photography. Every image is a licensed photograph with its author credited, or it is an illustration plainly drawn as one. We do not generate an image of a real place. A fabricated photograph is the same failure as a fabricated price.

How they are checked

Every edition passes two gates before it can publish. The first is deterministic: it rejects invented figures, banned stock phrasing, missing structure and openings that resemble a recently published piece. The second is an independent adversarial fact check whose only job is to find reasons the draft is wrong — not unsourced, wrong. Anything that fails is held back rather than published; nothing is published on the first gate alone.

Both gates are themselves tested. Each batch includes a deliberately corrupted draft with planted errors; if the checker passes it, the whole batch is held and a person is told. A quality gate that has quietly stopped working is more dangerous than no gate, because everything downstream still looks healthy.

Corrections

When we find an error in a published edition we correct it in place, run the corrected text back through both gates before it goes live, and record what changed and why against that destination. We do not quietly unpublish a page to fix a sentence.
